NAPA, Calif. (January 18, 2012) – Three Trinitas Cellars varietals won awards in the 2012 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition (SFWC). The competition, co-sponsored by WineJudging.com, was held over five days at the Cloverdale Citrus Fairgrounds in Sonoma County, Calif. 60 professional wine experts from around the country tasted and evaluated a world-record breaking 5,500 from across the U.S. A public tasting of these award winning wines will be at the Festival Pavilion, Fort Mason Center in San Francisco from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2012.
Trinitas Cellars’ 2010 Muscat was awarded Best of Class and retails for just $13. The Trinitas Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon received a Silver in the $50 to $59.99 category and retails for $50. The 2008 Mysterium was awarded Gold in the All Other Red Varietals/Blends $20 and over category and retails for $25.
“We were thrilled to be recognized for our wines in the prestigious San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition,” said Garrett Busch, Proprietor/CEO of Trinitas Cellars. “These awards showcase the dedication and expertise of our winemaker and the quality of wines we produce.”
Trinitas Cellars is the realization of a dream for the Busch family who has always had a passion for wine and the wine country. Trinitas Cellars continues to be a small winery based in Napa Valley, focused on providing high quality wines to tasting room visitors and customers across the U.S. Today the wines are available for sale in the Trinitas Cellars Tasting Room located in the Estate Cave behind The Meritage Resort and Spa and through its website.
“Since joining the Trinitas Cellars team in January 2007, I have made it my focus to continue to improve each of the varietals and introduce new wines to the Trinitas Portfolio,” said Kevin Mills, winemaker. “These awards are a result of our entire team’s dedication to producing high quality wines and offering them at a reasonable price point for our guests.”
Wines were awarded as Bronze, Silver, Gold and Double Gold (unanimous gold by the judges). In addition, there were Best of Class & Judges' Choice Awards given for each of the wine judging categories, and the prestigious Sweepstake Awards for the top Sparkling, White, Blush, Red and Dessert/Specialty wines.
