(August 10, 2011) – As The Meritage Resort and Spa prepares to add an additional 12,500 square feet of meeting space and 165 guestrooms in spring 2012, it has joined Associated Luxury Hotels International (ALHI). The AAA Four-Diamond hotel will now receive dedicated National Sales services and support from ALHI and its professional sales force throughout North America to the meetings and incentive/recognition marketplace.
When The Meritage Resort and Spa’s expansion opens early next year, it will have more than 50,000 square feet of indoor and covered outdoor meeting space and 320 luxurious guestrooms. Its partnership with ALHI will help the resort to continue to bring conferences and events to Napa. ALHI is a prestigious dues-based membership National Sales organization that represents more than 130 Four- and Five-Diamond quality hotels and resorts worldwide. It assists meeting professionals, association executives, incentive/recognition specialists and business executives interested in conducting their face-to-face programs at upper-upper-tier and luxury level member properties.
As ALHI’s only Napa property, The Meritage Resort and Spa can offer guests and meeting planners many unique opportunities:
Conferences and Events can be held in the largest ballroom north of San Francisco and west of Sacramento. The spectacular Grand Salon offers 10,500 square feet, which can be easily configured for large conferences or for up to ten individual meeting rooms. The ballroom also features a unique pre-reception foyer with French doors that open to a terrace on both sides of the ballroom. The foyers, with floor-to-ceiling arched windows, add more usable space to the ballroom and create a light and airy ambiance. The Vineyard Terrace offers more than 3,250 square feet of covered outdoor event space including the Terrace Bar. Once the expansion is complete in spring 2012, the Carneros Ballroom will provide an additional 7,300 square feet of flexible indoor event space plus 2,500 square foot pre-function space opening onto the Oakville Terrace, a covered 4,000 square foot space for receptions, lunches and dinners. The outdoor Event Piazza will have a croquet lawn, space for events, weddings and more.
The one-of-a-kind Estate Wine Cave provides meeting planners and groups nearly 3,500 square feet of elegant event space underground. This space is perfect for winemaker dinners of up to 170 or receptions and weddings of up to 240.
Spa Terra is North America’s first full-service spa in an underground cave. Its hushed serenity provides guests with the perfect relaxing atmosphere to enjoy a massage, facial and many other spa services. The spa’s elegant relaxation lounge and twelve treatment rooms, including four signature couples rooms, are all cocooned in the heart of the earth. Many of the treatments integrate Napa Valley influences with essential ingredients indigenous to Northern California, including grape seeds and oils. Both ladies’ and gentlemen’s private lounges feature whirlpools, steam grottos and soothing water walls.
Siena is The Meritage Resort and Spa’s signature restaurant. It features a menu gathered from California’s finest ingredients inspired by Tuscany. Every dish is prepared fresh from local organic farms with farm-raised beef, artisan cheeses and more.
The Trinitas Tasting Room is the embodiment of all things Napa. This underground tasting room is directly underneath acres of vineyards and the famous Grape Crusher Statue. Tasting room visitors are immersed in the natural stone and dark woods of the Estate Wine Cave and can enjoy tasting with samplings of artisan cheeses or purchase a bottle to enjoy with dinner at Siena (no corkage fees for wines purchased in the Trinitas Tasting Room). The tasting room also offers a variety of wine country gifts and cheeses for a picnic in the resort’s vineyards or under a stunning gazebo.
Once the resort expansion is complete in Spring 2012, The Crush Ultra Lounge will offer guests six luxury bowling lanes in an setting with a full-service bar. In addition to Crush Ultra Lounge, The Meritage Resort will also feature Spa Terra’s nail salon and boutique, and a café. The expanded fitness studio will feature floor to ceiling windows that look out onto private vineyards and the Grape Crusher Statue.
