In a “Crush” for Time?
Its crush time in Napa and the vineyards are awash in fall colors and frenzied workers harvesting the precious fruit. You’ve come to visit during wine country’s most beautiful season. Here is how you can save time, save your sanity and make the most of your day. After breakfast, take a walk on the new vineyard trail that meanders along the hillside above the Trinitas Tasting Room in the Estate Cave and enjoy the fall-hued views of the valley. Then come into the cave for a tasting of Trinitas Cellars’ current releases, including Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Old Vine Zinfandel and Petite Sirah. Drink in the serenity and coolness of the cave while sampling the wines paired with artisan fruits and cheeses. It may be difficult to tear yourself away from the cave, but remember that there are three exceptional wineries located nearby that you must visit. Just a short drive in the car – or ask our Concierge about shuttle service – and you are first in line at these boutique wineries where their gracious staff will welcome you by pouring world-class wines. Patz & Hall Winery, Jessup Cellars, Falcor Winery and Delectus Winery are family-owned – and friendly-owned – wineries that produce many of the finest vintages in the Napa Valley. Enjoy varietals such as Chardonnay, Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc while listening to the winemakers themselves describe how the wines are handcrafted with pride and care. Afterward, if you still have time, head into downtown Napa to explore the many art galleries, boutique shops and gourmet cafes. But save your appetite for your return to The Meritage – our chef at Siena Restaurant has prepared a fabulous dinner for you!
