Spas of America Names Spa Terra in Top 30 Spas in America

Napa, CA —October 15, 2009—Napa, Calif- Spa Terra at the Meritage Resort in Napa Valley has been selected as one of the Top 30 Spas of 2008 by the fastest-growing spa travel Web site, Spas of America. More than 650 spas are featured on the Spas of America Web site, and the Top 30 list represents an elite five percent. The spas on the list are established properties, with a solid track record of providing extraordinary spa and wellness experiences to spa travelers around the world.

“We are thrilled that Spa Terra is recognized as part of such an elite list comprising a cross-section of national resorts, hotels and destination spas spanning the United States, Canada and Mexico,” said Spa Director, Victoria Boscarino.  

The spa offers services and treatments for face and body that incorporate many ingredients local to Napa Valley, including wine, grape seed oil, olives, citrus, herbs and honey. A signature treatment at Spa Terra is Solo Vino. This unique experience begins with an exfoliating grape seed scrub, followed by an invigorating jet shower rinse and a healing body wrap with a wine cave mud mask.

Spa Terra amenities include steam grottos, soaking pools, waterfalls and private treatment rooms for individual and couples treatments. The spa designers worked closely with local stone masons, muralists, metallurgists and other skilled craftspeople to transform more than 9,000 square feet of space carved into the vine-covered hills behind The Meritage Resort at Napa.

Attention to detail is evident in elements such as hand-forged wrought-iron fixtures, water features, and extensive custom tile work, including Mediterranean-inspired mosaics. Thoughtfully selected materials and an earthy palate provide a subtle reminder of the unique location of this underground oasis.
